What is a expandable ring shank? The shank of a ring is the lower part, the part that is generally not seen unless the ring twists and turns on the finger. A ring with a conventional fixed shank must be made large enough to go over your "knuckle" (finger joint) regardless of how enlarged the knuckle is. This makes the ring too large in the wearing position, causing it to twist and turn on your finger. |

How does it work?
The
Finger Mate shank opens automatically when the ring is pulled from the top and
locks closed when its sides are squeezed together. Its 2-position catch allows
for a half-size adjustment when needed. There are no buttons to push, nor are
there any dangling flaps to engage. The special safety spring allows the shank to
open 3 - 4 sizes, but prevents it from opening fully, securing the ring from
loss if the catch is not locked. Is it safe? Absolutely! The two-position locking mechanism not only provides an extra margin of safety, but it also provides relief if the ring should become too tight on particularly hot or muggy days. Furthermore, a concealed spring prevents the ring from opening too far. There is always a continuous band surrounding the finger. How can I see it?
