BASIC INSTALLATION OF A FINGER MATE SHANK

The customer’s ring should be inspected for any repairs such as
retipping. Repairs should be done
before the Finger Mate shank is installed. |

Select the correct* Finger Mate shank. *Correct for closed finger size, width, height, hinge position and
metal. |

3. |
The customer’s ring is sized to the closed finger size, and then the existing
shank is cut off at the point where the Finger Mate shank will be attached. |

The Finger Mate shank top only (with the male hinges) is put into the
installation clamp. The bottom of the Finger Mate shank, with the female hinges, is set
aside, as it is complete and requires no jewelry work. |

With the shank top in the installation clamp, the portion of the
Finger Mate top to be replaced with the customer’s top is sawed out. |

The customer’s top, is soldered to the Finger Mate top, while being
held in position by the installation clamp. |

7. |
The customer’s top, (now with the Finger Mate top attached) is
removed from the clamp and reassembled with the Finger Mate bottom. |

8. |
DO NOT SOLDER The hinge pins are riveted in place.
The ring is polished. Then, the catch and spring is lubricated with
Castor oil. The finished ring can now
be delivered to the customer. |
